What Trips Do We Offer?

At Dave Hansen Whitewater we offer a few different river trips down the beautiful Snake River. There’s the 8-mile whitewater adventure, 13-mile scenic float, 16-mile combo, and 21-mile combo. Each trip is unique, beautiful, and great for the whole family. Year after year, season after season, rafting is one of the best kids activities in the Jackson Hole area. No matter your experience level we have a trip for you!

The 8-mile whitewater adventure begins at West Table and ends at Sheep Gulch. This trip runs class 2-3 rapids so it’s a very fun, beginner-intermediate river. Everyone on board will get soaked from head to toe, and swimming alongside the raft is encouraged at the discretion of your guides. The biggest rapids you will cruise through on this trip are called Lunch Counter and Big Kahuna. Hunker down and get ready for the waves! From start to finish this trip runs about 3.5 to 4 hours, and is great for the whole family.

The 13-mile scenic float goes from Wilson to South Park. Up in the Jackson Hole Valley, this trip has beautiful Teton views and a great wildlife viewing potential. It’s not uncommon to run into bald eagles, osprey, moose, and otters on this stretch. You won’t be getting wet on this trip, so bring your cameras along and a small snack if you’d like! We’ve got a super cool set up for the kids on this trip, called the Junior Guide Program, complete with puzzles, games, and things to be on the lookout for. At the end they’ll be awarded Junior Guide patches. The scenic rafts seat up to 10 for this 3 hour door-to-door trip.

The 16-mile combination trip goes from Pritchard to Sheep Gulch. You begin your scenic portion at the Pritchard put-in, then hop out of the raft at West Table for a short break and prepare to continue on to the whitewater portion ending at Sheep Gulch. During your short break there is an opportunity to put anything you don’t want to get wet, like your camera, back on the bus for safe keeping. From the time you leave our office to the time you return after completing the trip, this combo takes about 5.5 hours. Everyone on this trip will receive a bag lunch.

The 21-mile combination trip is a little different. The scenic portion begins at Wilson and floats to South Park. This scenic portion offers awesome views of the Tetons. Once you arrive at South Park, a shuttle picks you up and brings you back to either our in town, or south of town location. There you prepare for the whitewater portion and meet up with the rest of the whitewater rafters. From there everyone hops on the bus and rides down to West Table where you will raft until Sheep Gulch. From the time you leave our office to the time you return after completing the trip, this combo takes about 7.5 hours. Everyone on this trip will receive a bag lunch.

No matter your experience level, you can’t go wrong with any of our trips. There’s something for everyone and we guarantee you’ll come back from your trip down the beautiful Snake River craving more!
