Teton Pass is Closed, but Jackson Hole is Still Open!

Teton Pass is Closed, but Jackson Hole is Open!

June 10, 2024

Teton Pass is currently closed due to road failure on Wyoming State HWY 22 at milepost 12.8. The closure is expected to last a few weeks as WYDOT “builds a safe, temporary detour…likely with strict weight and width restrictions…around the slide area using local fill material and paving two temporary lanes.”

If you are traveling from the town of Jackson, Teton Village, South of Jackson (Alpine, Star Valley, Pinedale, etc.) or north of Jackson (Grand Teton National Park, Dubois, Gros Venture, etc), the slide on Teton Pass will have no effect on how you travel to our office for a trip or future trip with us.

If you are traveling from Idaho Falls, Victor, Driggs, or Teton Valley below is some travel info depending on the trip you are taking with us.

How does this affect our whitewater trip?

We have an office in the town of Alpine at Alpine Valley RV Resort where you can check in! Driving to Alpine (vs if you were driving over Teton Pass to Jackson) will SAVE you about 30-45 minutes in your day.
From Victor, the scenic drive to our office at Alpine Valley RV Resort is about 60 minutes.  Once at our office, you can check in for your trip and get suited up in wetsuits. From here, is about a 10 minute drive to where the our trips begin at the West Table Boat Ramp (as a point of reference, from the town of Jackson to West Table it is about a 40 minute drive). Depending on the trip you are on, we will either be able to drive you from Alpine Valley RV Resort to the West Table Boat Ramp or give you a map to easily drive your party to West Table. If you do drive yourself to West Table, a Dave Hansen Whitewater bus will bring you back to your car at the end of the trip.

How does this affect our scenic trip?

Scenic trips will still need to meet us at our office in the town of Jackson via HWY 26 and US 89 through Alpine, WY through the Snake River Canyon. If you are traveling from Victor, your travel time to our office will increase by at least an hour. Check current route times via Google Maps.
